This weekend could be huge in run for Huber

This weekend the Icehawks will travel to Fort Wayne Friday and Saturday to take on the Komets. The Hawks currently have a 4 point lead over the Komets in the standings. They are also undefeated in the Coliseum this season.

If the Icehawks are able to pull off a sweep they would make a huge statement in the run for the Huber Trophy for the best regular season record and also put themselves ahead 8 points over the Komets, last year's regular season champs.

On the other hand if Fort Wayne gets the sweep of the 2 games. They move back into a tie for the top spot and get momentum going on their side. They are becoming healthy once again with goaltender Sebastian Leplante returning from an injury and Jake Pence returning from the IR.

So it will be vital for the Icehawks tonight to try to grab a victory to atleast assure a split in the 2 game series. Ryan Mior will make his first start away from McMorran Arena tonight. Mior has looked great in his first 2 starts only allowing 1 goal in those 2 games including a shut out over the Kalamazoo K-Wings last weekend.

HOLDER DEALT

He was General this season for about a couple hours before being shipped back after a trade for Kyle Deck was voided. Now Paul Holder is once again a General after he was traded yesterday for Future Considerations.

The Icehawks will be short on skaters tonight unless something is pulled off today to bring in someone.
