Now back to .500 and a 3 game winning streak the Icehawks are starting to look like the team that many thought they would. The Icehawks got the victory tonight 5-3 against the Bloomington Prairie Thunder at McMorran Arena. The Icehawks are now back to a 5-5 record and jumped Bloomington and Flint to take sole possession of 3rd place in the IHL.

The Icehawks jumped out to a quick start taking an early 1-0 lead when Jamie Carroll scored on the powerplay. It wouldn't be the last the Thunder would see of Carroll in the game. The Icehawks also shut out the Thunder in the first period that pushed there streak without giving up a goal to 5 Periods. The Icehawks also controlled the period outshooting the Thunder 15-5

The Hawks would jump ahead 2-0 when Nick Lindberg scored his 4th of the season. The Hawks looked to be in control before Don Parsons scored his 10th goal of the season moving up closer on the all time minor league goals scored list. The Thunder then would tie the game up when Christian Ban who just came out of the penalty box after serving a penalty took a pass and went on a breakaway beating Larry Sterling stick side that tied the game up 2 a piece.

In the 3rd it seemed Bloomington had the momentum on their side when they took the lead 3-2 when Jon Booras scored to put the Thunder ahead. But after a Scott Fankhouser Delay of Game penalty the Icehawks got rolling scoring 3 goals in 3 minutes. First getting a powerplay goal from Jeremy Tucker then Jamie Carroll would score his 2nd of the night to put the Icehawks ahead before Kerry Bowman put the game away for good scoring his first of the year.

Larry Sterling (3-4) got the win between the pipes for the Hawks stopping 24 of 27 shots. Former NHLer Scott Fankhouser (3-4) stopping 34 of 39 shots.
