Icehawks get set for Kalamazoo, make 2 roster moves

The Icehawks are set to take on the Kalamazoo K-Wings tonight for the first time this season. The Hawks will play the Wings tonight in Kalamazoo at 7:30 then return home on Saturday to take on the Wings also at 7:30. The K-Wings feature 2 former Icehawks. Jereme Tendler and Mark Nebus both play for the Wings and so far have been successful. Tendler scored 5 goals in his first weekend with the team and Nebus has 3 goals on the year after only scoring 1 last year.

Rory Smith placed on Non Roster spot, Gutwald waived.

Some bad news to report, today on the IHL transaction list the Icehawks have placed Rory Smith on a Non Roster Spot. That means more than likely that Smith has left the team, maybe for Lacrosse, the other sport that he plays. He is signed in Lacrosse to play for the New York Titans in the NLL but they do not start the season until January. We will keep you updated on that and also if the Icehawks make any roster moves today. Defenseman Justin Gutwald was also waived.
