Generals 4 Icehawks 3 The Icehawks couldn't find a win tonight when they traveled to Flint to take on the Generals. The Icehawks started out hot taking a quick 2-0 lead when Jamie Carroll got his 3rd goal of the season and Nick Lindberg got his first of the season.
But the Generals got to work in the 2nd period getting 3 goals, 2 on the powerplay, from Mike Alexiou, Steve Rymsha and Greg Bullock. The Icehawks couldn't mustard up a goal in the 2nd period which gave the Generals a 3-2 lead going into the locker room. Shots in the 2nd period were 12-8 Flint.
The Generals would tack on another goal from John Dipace in the 3rd period. Kris Vernarsky would give the Icehawks a chance though pulling them within one late in the 3rd but the Icehawks could not get one more goal and have now dropped there 3rd in as many games to start the season.
Sterling was in net for the Icehawks taking the loss (0-3) stopping 24 of 28 shots. Chad Alban was suppose to be in net for the Generals but it was rookie Matt Speeza who got the nod, he played well stopping 34 of 37 shots and getting the win.
Attendance was announced at 2,214 but it was reported to only be around 1,000.
