Icehawks sign a couple Valicevic update

The icehawks announced today they have signed 2 veterans to their camp roster as they resigned B.J Adams and former NHL goalie Mike Minard. Adams returns to the defense after contemplating retirement during the offseason. He will also be an assistant coach to Stan Drulia.

"B.J. has consistently been one of our steadiest defenseman," Drulia said. "He is also a veteran leader and is instrumental in our recruiting process over the summer."

Mike Minard was signed to back up Larry Sterling in goal. The 31 year old comes with alot of AHL experience and also played a game in the NHL.

"Minard's experience will be extremely valuable for us," Drulia said. "He knows the game inside and out and has incredible work ethic."

Now the update on Valicevic doesn't look good. The rumor picked up some steam today with these 2 signings. Right now the word is that Valicevic hasn't completely ruled out playing but is seriously considering retiring. With these 2 signings today by the icehawks, they are now over the Veteran limit. So a Vet would have to be cut before the home opener. We'll keep you posted.
